The Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic issued a resolution on Monday establishing a series of special and restrictive measures to ensure the safety of tourists and citizens during the Easter holidays, from April 14 to 20, 2025.
The resolution, supported by the laws and regulations governing the tourism sector, imposes restrictions on hotels, beaches, spas and leisure centers to ensure responsible tourism services.
Measures Semana Santa 2025
The most important measures are:
- Parties and events are prohibited on beaches and resorts all week.
– Daily closure of beaches and resorts from 6 PM to 6:00 AM.
- Ban on the use of jet skis, banana boats, quad bikes and motorbikes on beaches.
– Limited sales of alcoholic beverages in water parks, amusement parks and ranches and are prohibited between 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM.
- The use of golf carts by minors without a driver's license is prohibited in tourist complexes.
– Excursions are only allowed with authorized guides and properly registered vessels with a visible QR code.
- It is forbidden to camp or pitch a tent on the country's beaches.
It is also emphasized that all hotels and restaurants in tourist areas must adhere to safety and hygiene regulations.
Institutions that organize events must also have an internal safety plan.
