Mayor Wilfredo Olivences, together with councilors and architect Nolberto Mota, gave a press conference in which they discussed the situation of the city's inadequate streets and the measures that will be taken to improve traffic and road infrastructure.
Mayor Olivences explained that the deterioration of some streets is not due to a lack of municipal management.
Street and traffic plan
The problems are largely due to poor practices in the operation of Coraapplata (Puerto Plata's drinking water company).
The interventions by this company has caused damage to the asphalt layer and affected the quality of the roads.
We have found that the continued interventions without proper planning and the poor management of excavations have weakened our streets, leading to the defects we see today.
Architect Nolberto Mota provided a detailed action plan that will be implemented to improve traffic and pave the affected roads.
The Municipal Council reaffirms its commitment to the development and well-being of Sosúa and works closely with its citizens to ensure an optimal and functional road infrastructure.
