This Sunday evening, strong flooding hit several communities on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, including Sosúa.
Heavy rains have caused rivers and streams to overflow their banks, leading to the evacuation of countless families.
Authorities, working with rescue teams, have worked hard to protect those affected, moving families to temporary shelters and the homes of friends and relatives.
However, the situation there is worrying as many families have lost their belongings and are facing difficult times.
And again
And again
So far, conditions in affected communities have been bleak and significant damage to infrastructure and homes has been reported.
The National Meteorological Office has issued warnings for the province of Puerto Plata, urging the population to stay informed and follow the authorities' recommendations.
There are calls for solidarity within the community to support those affected by this situation.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance to those affected.
I love Sosúa
Sosúa
¿Qué pasa?
