November 6 is actually a holiday for everyone in the Dominican Republic, Día de la Constitución (Constitution Day).
But given that this day falls on Wednesday this year, the holiday has been moved to Monday, November 4.
Now that the holiday has been moved to Monday everyone has a long weekend.
The working week starts on Tuesday, November 5 and schools will also start again after the long weekend.
Many additional emergency services and security personnel will be deployed this weekend to not only ensure safety but also to provide assistance to citizens who encounter problems along the way.
The latest news is that many beaches in the province of Puerto Plata will be prohibited from entering the water due to weather conditions.
But of course this can change quickly.
