Sunday afternoon, February 9 there was a kite surfing competition held on the beach of Cabarete at which athletes from Israel and the Dominican Republic participated.
The sporting event was sponsored by the Embassy of Israel in cooperation with Master Of The Ocean and Kite Beach Hotel.
At the event, the Ambassador of Israel, Bajih Mansour, consul Adi Farjon and representatives of the Ministry of Tourism were present.
For Israel Oria Asa, the number two in kitesurfing in Israel and Mattan, a former member of the Special Forces participated.
Mattan took part in the competitions with a metal artificial leg!

For the Dominican team Raul Corniel and his brother were the leaders of the kitesurf team.
At the end, it were the young athletes of the Dominican team who won all the categories of the event.
The sporting event ended with a buffet at restaurant Chef Arsenio at Hotel Hideaway.
The Ambassador of Israel held a speech at the end of the event in which he said that there will be more such sports events in the near future to intensify the good relations between the Dominican Republic and Israel.
