It was an awesome spectacle
Before the dance marathon started there was a yoga and fitness training demonstration where especially the youth danced their heart out. By five o'clock, the dance marathon started. There showed up around hundred participants for the dance festivities. The youngest was three years and the oldest in her seventies. Emily and Carlos showed on stage, in turns of fifteen minutes, the audience how to dance. Each dancer had a bottle of water (provided by the company Sasino) for himself in front of him and it sure was necessary because it was very hot.

Emily and Carlos demonstrated the reggaeton, salsa, bachata, merengue, hip hop and some other dance styles and the dancers in the street doing their best effort to copy the dances. The little ones at the front were the cutest of all. They kept going and did not get tired. After one and a half hour non-stop dancing, with only twenty regrettable dropouts, the marathon ended with loud cheers from the participants. Then they had to wait for the outcome of the jury.

The two brave little girls of about 4 years old received under loud applause from the audience an honorary medal. Then followed some other honorary medals and the final handout of the trophies. It was a fantastic afternoon and Emily and Carlos of 'Emily Watson School of Dance' promised the enthusiastic audience that the dance marathon will be a tradition. For next year they assured there will be organized the second 'Sosúa Dance Marathon.
