The first phase of the reconstruction of the airport of the north coast, for Sosúa, Cabarete and Puerto Plata, 'Gregorio Luperón' is now complete.
The arrival and departure and check-in hall and the parking lot are now completely reconstructed and renewed.

In the past week, the Minister of Tourism made 300 million pesos available for the second phase.
The announcement for the start of the second phase was done by the Deputy Minister of Tourism Mr. César José de los Santos in the presence of the director of the airport Arístides Fernández Zucco and the governor of the province of Puerto Plata Eridania Llibre Jiménez.
The Deputy Minister informed the gathered media that in the second phase, a restaurant, waiting rooms and an additional departure and arrival hall are built.
The entire renovation costs 800 million pesos and the project will be completed next April.
