If you want to enjoy true nature in the Dominican Republic, then a visit to 'Islabon Jungle River Tours' is the perfect option.
From Sosúa the entrance of the tour is situated some 3 mile beyond Cabarete.
It is a family owned enterprise and the owner Ramón Cruz with his wife and sons, guide the travelers through the jungle.
On arrival, you enter a mini zoo.
For children this is great because the Cockatoos, tarantulas, birds of prey and snakes are very tame so it's easy to shoot a picture with them.
The spiders look scary, but they have become accustomed to the children and are totally confidential, but they want to be treated with respect.
There is also a crocodile (Alligator), but for the children it's only permitted to watch him, not to touch him.

After visiting the park with his tame reptiles, birds, plants and trees (coffee, rice, cocoa, bananas, etc) follows a tour through the jungle area, where the two clear water rivers Yassica en Jacqueline find their way to the Atlantic Ocean.
On your way you can see how the locals try to catch crabs and lobsters.
This part is also full of eels.
But the Dominicans are not so keen on eels because this fish resembles a snake.
A ticket for this interesting trip costs only US $10.
Children under five go for free.
From Sosúa this trip is organized by Linda from Mel tour.
There will only be some extra costs for a communal taxi to get there.
