The measure aims to protect the integrity and safety of citizens and to minimize the impact of adverse weather conditions.
The committee works with emergency and security services and ensures constant monitoring of vulnerable areas to address any emergencies.
The population is then called on to stay informed through official channels and to follow the recommendations of local authorities.
Everyone is urged to take precautions and be alert to any warnings from authorities, Mayor Olivences said.
The Office of the Mayor of Sosúa reaffirms its commitment to act quickly and effectively in the event of any event, and to work with communities to keep everyone safe and prepared.
The weather conditions have been a bit changeable lately in Sosúa.
In response to the recent heavy rains that have hit the region, the municipal council of Wilfredo Olivences has issued instructions to carry out drainage works at critical points of the city, with the aim of mitigating the effects of heavy rains and preventing flooding in the region in the most vulnerable areas.
The work is being carried out at several points such as the Sosúa Abajo Bridge, the La Cañada Estuary and in El Tablón.
These points have been selected as priorities to ensure adequate stormwater drainage and reduce the risk of flooding in nearby residential and commercial areas.
The operation is closely monitored by Councilor Francisco Martínez (Cholo), who is on site to verify the development of the work together with Genaro García, president of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations.
